CESが終わって暫くは、米国企業の新年度始めということもあり、例年ニュースが減る傾向にあります。今週もいつもよりニュースが少なめでした。

そんな中でMicrosoftによるゲーム会社Activision Blizzardを８兆円で買収するというニュースは衝撃的でした。MicrosoftはXBox事業があり直ぐにシナジーも見込めますが、メタバース戦略上ゲームのインターフェースのノウハウは不可欠ということでしょう。メタバースがNext Big Thingになる流れですね。

For a while after CES, there tends to be less news as it is the beginning of the new fiscal year for US companies. This week, too, there was less news than usual.

Though it is a trend, Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard for 8 trillion yen was a shocking news. Microsoft has the XBox business and can expect synergies soon, but the know-how of the game interface is essential for the Metaverse strategy. The metaverse will become the Next Big Thing.

The most read news last week was "Sony pivots into cars with Sony Mobility and a Vision-S SUV prototype at CES 2022."
