私事ですが土曜日に博士論文の中間報告会があり、その準備のため先週の配信をお休みさせて頂きました。ご心配頂いた方、ありがとうございます。今週は2週間分のニュースをピックアップしています。

Appleが自社設計・開発のCPUを搭載したMacBook Proを発表し、Googleも同様に自社設計・開発したCPUを搭載したPixcelを発表しました。かつてIT産業は水平分業が発展モデルと言われていましたが、豊富な資金力を背景に部分的な垂直統合が起こっているとも言えます。ARMがCPUの設計情報をライセンスしたことで、産業構造変化をもたらしています。

On a personal note, I had to prepare for the mid-term report of my doctoral thesis on Saturday, so I had to take a break from last week's newsletter. Thank you for your concern. This week, I'm picking up two weeks' worth of news.

Apple announced the MacBook Pro with a CPU designed and developed by Apple, and Google announced the Pixcel with a CPU designed and developed by Google as well. In the past, the IT industry was said to have a horizontal division of work as its development model, but it can be said that partial vertical integration is occurring, backed by abundant financial resources, and ARM's licensing of CPU design information is bringing about a change in the industry structure.
