この週末米国はLabor Day holidayの3連休で、これを過ぎると夏が終わって秋といった趣になります。ベイエリアは山火事の煙の影響がありそうですが、この時期らしく晴れの予報です。

GoogleやAppleなどシリコンバレー企業のオフィス復帰は来年1月からに延期されています。一方で、従業員にワクチン接種を報告することを求め始めており、接客系のビジネスでは義務化が始まっています。ワクチン接種が進まず、ワクチンの扱いが曖昧な日本の対応が気になります。

記事として取り上げてますが、世界経済フォーラムの調査で過去３年間のデジタル競争力分析で日本は最下位でした。信じたくない結果です。パンデミック下で世界で急速にデジタル化が進んでいる中、日本だけが取り残されていくのを危惧します。

This weekend is the Labor Day holiday in the U.S. After this holiday, summer will be over and it will feel like fall. The Bay Area is likely to be affected by the smoke from the wildfires, but the forecast is for sunny skies, as is typical for this time of year.

The return of Silicon Valley companies like Google and Apple to their offices has been postponed until next January. On the other hand, they are starting to require their employees to report vaccinations status, which is also becoming mandatory especially in hospitality businesses.
