西海岸内陸で発生した大型高気圧により、シリコンバレーは熱波に見舞われています。

今週は中小アプリ開発者が起こした対Appleの集団訴訟での和解がありました。値付けの自由度などで大きく譲歩したように見えますが、一方で本丸とも言えるEpic Gamesとの訴訟は続いており、今回の和解は法廷戦術の一つとも言われます。独禁法適用でGAFAは政治的な圧力を受けており、今後もこれらの問題がどう進んでいくのか注視していきたいと思います。

その他、Teslaが電力小売の事業認可をテキサス州で申請、Waymoがサンフランシスコで自律運転サービスの限定ユーザー提供を開始、Amazonがネット上の割賦払いサービスAffirmと提携など、今週も話題は尽きませんでしたね。お楽しみください。

The Bay Area, including Silicon Valley, is experiencing a heat wave due to a large high pressure system that formed inland from the West Coast.

This week, there was a settlement in the class action lawsuit against Apple brought by small and medium app developers. The settlement is said to be a courtroom tactic, as another lawsuit against Epic Games, the main player against Apple, continues. GAFA is under political pressure due to the application of antitrust laws, and I will be watching closely to see how these issues progress.

In other news, Tesla filed for a business license for electricity retailing in Texas, Waymo started offering its autonomous driving service to a limited number of users in San Francisco, and Amazon partnered with Affirm, an online installment payment service. Enjoy.
