シリコンバレーに戻りました。山火事の影響で少し霞んでいますが、ベイエリアらしい快晴の空です。

今週はなんと言ってもTesla1 AI Dayのニュースに注目。冒頭Elon Muskが「TeslaはEV自動車会社以上の会社」と形容したように、独自のAIチップとそれを使ったAI学習環境用スパコンDojo、自動運転技術、更にはヒト型ロボットTesla Botまで余すところなく、TeslaのAI技術をアピールしていました。

その他には、Amazonが小型デパート建設を計画しているとのニュースも気になります。建設場所としてはカリフォルニアとオハイオが検討されているとか。ネット販売で既存デパートを破壊したあとに、新たなコンセプトでデパートを建設するというAmazonの大胆さには驚くしかありません。

I'm back in Silicon Valley. It's a little hazy from the wildfires, but the sky is clear and typical of the Bay Area.

This week, I would focus on the Tesla1 AI Day news. As Elon Musk said at the beginning of the event, "Tesla is much more than an electric car company." Tesla showed off its AI technology, including its own AI chip, Dojo supercomputer for AI learning environment, self-driving technology, and even Tesla Bot, a humanoid robot.

Another interesting news is that Amazon is planning to build a mini department store. California and Ohio are being considered as possible locations. One can only be amazed at Amazon's audacity to build a department store based on a new concept after disrupting incumbent ones with online sales.

The most read news last week was "Amazon made a $55 soap dispenser that reminds you to wash for 20 seconds."
